What do I mean by "soft". The weave on this basket is not as tight as some. When I have it in my hand it take little pressure to make sides of the basket flex.

The artist who made this basket left the ends on the needle bundles for two rows around the widest part of the basket.

Notice this weaver didn't use one of the plastic rings to help start the weaving. This weaver got a good, tight center without using any other material to help.
